As a Special Administrative Region of China, Macau
is a small international city where there combine the Chinese and
the western culture.
Fast Facts of Macau
Location: Located in the southeast coast of China,
western bank of Canton River Delta. It borders Guangdong Province.
To Hong Kong, it has 60 kilometers’ distance and to Guangzhou, there
is 145 kilometers’ distance.
Territory: The total area is enlarging because of
the reclaiming areas from the sea. Now, it has 27.3 kilometers in
all. It territory include Macau peninsula and the two offshore islands
of Taipa and Coloane in the Pearl River delta.
Population: 469,800 in 2005
Language: Chinese and Portuguese are both the official
language in Macau. Cantonese is the most popular in people’s daily
life and English is also used.
Climate: Tropical monsoon climate. It mainly has
four seasons- long winter and summer and short spring and autumn.
January is the coldest month in a year that has an average temperature
of 14.6℃. July is the hottest one that has an average temperature
of 28.5℃.

Mid-autumn Festival.
